The restoration specialists at the National Museum of Medieval Art in Korçë dedicate themselves daily to preserving the treasures of Albania’s cultural heritage.

Based on an agreement between the National Museum of Medieval Art and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, as part of the project “Mapping and Documenting Archaeological Areas, Lubonjë, Korçë,” specialists are currently working on the restoration of seven icons.

The icons are undergoing consolidation and restoration processes.

The museum shared images on social media showcasing the work being done on the icon “St. Mary with Christ on the Throne.” This icon, dating back to 1814, originates from the Church of St. Mary in Lubonjë, Korçë.
