Spanish media: Albania emerges as major Mediterranean tourism discovery

TIRANA, May 29 – Spanish magazine Noticias del Vino describes Albania as a rapidly rising Mediterranean tourism destination and a growing point of interest for international visitors and media.
The publication presents Albania as a “hidden gem” in the Balkans. It highlights its coastline, mountains, and cultural heritage, along with affordability and hospitality. It also notes strong online visibility, including viral tourism content on TikTok linked to low-cost seaside dining.
Noticias del Vino focuses on the Albanian Riviera from Vlora to Ksamil, identifying Ksamil and Dhërmi as key coastal destinations. It also refers to inland and historical sites, including Berat, Gjirokastër, and Butrint, which it links to UNESCO heritage and archaeological value.
The report further highlights northern tourism routes such as the Theth–Valbona hike and the Lake Koman ferry crossing. It describes Tirana as a colourful capital and mentions Bunk’Art and the former “Block” district as key cultural and urban sites.
In addition, the magazine cites natural attractions such as the Blue Eye spring and the Bënjë thermal baths in southern Albania. It concludes that Albania remains a safe travel destination, while warning that rapid tourism growth may reduce its “hidden” character.
