Spiropali: Justice and Ukraine’s Sovereignty Are Key to Peace

Albania’s Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali spoke today from Kyiv. She said justice for victims, accountability for the aggressor, and full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable.

First, she addressed ongoing Russian attacks. “For nearly four years, Ukraine has faced an unjustified war. Russia continues to bring destruction and suffering. Yet, the Ukrainian people remain strong,” she said.

Next, Spiropali described the recent strikes on energy and critical infrastructure. Millions of Ukrainians now struggle for warm homes, functional hospitals, and essential services. She called these attacks deliberate violations of international law.

Then, she warned about the regional impact. “These acts threaten security across the region. They also undermine global stability. Albania condemns these crimes fully. Those responsible must be held accountable,” she stressed.

Furthermore, Spiropali reaffirmed Albania’s unwavering support for Ukraine. She noted Albania backs EU sanctions and Ukraine’s European integration.

Finally, she emphasized the need for a fair and lasting peace. “Peace must restore sovereignty, return children and prisoners, and ensure justice. Albania stands ready to help rebuild Ukraine and strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, infrastructure, and culture,” she said.

In conclusion, she added, “Ukraine shows resistance and dignity. Albania is proud to stand by its side in these decisive times.”
