Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali met today with Afrim Gashi, Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia. The meeting took place during her official visit to North Macedonia.

Spiropali and Gashi held an open and constructive discussion. They focused on the key role of parliament and parliamentary diplomacy in advancing bilateral relations.

Spiropali said the talks stressed the need for all political forces in parliament to support reforms. They also highlighted stronger political dialogue and faster progress toward European integration.

She noted that Albania and North Macedonia share the same European horizon. She said parliamentary cooperation remains a vital pillar to move the process forward with consensus, responsibility, and a shared vision.

Spiropali is on a two-day visit to North Macedonia. Earlier today, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski received her in a meeting.

She also met with North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister, Timčo Mucunski. They later held a joint press conference.
