Strauss Comes Alive in Jazz and Pop Fusion at UArt

Johann Strauss’s timeless music came alive last night at the Black Box hall of the University of Arts. The performance blended classical melodies with jazz, pop, and chanson elements.

Clara Montocchio Quintet delivered a unique cross-genre concert as part of Austrian Cultural Week in the capital.

The quintet reimagined Strauss’s masterpieces, including “Orlofsky’s Couplets,” “Meine Lippen, sie küssen so heiß,” and “Wiener Blut.” They transformed the classics into a contemporary soundscape.

The audience enjoyed a dynamic and emotional performance. The five musicians, trained in classical music, crossed genre boundaries and brought Strauss into the 21st century.

Admission to the concert was free.
