Spring tourism peak in southern Albania, Blue Eye among top attractions

TIRANA, May 6 – Spring has brought a strong influx of tourists to southern Albania. The Blue Eye remains one of the most visited natural attractions in the region. The site draws both domestic and international visitors with its clear waters and distinctive colors.
Visitors describe the experience as impressive. A first-time visitor said she discovered a very beautiful country and expressed surprise at how much Albania has developed in recent years. She added that she had limited information before her trip.
A group of tourists from Germany said they visited the site on recommendation. They compared it with similar attractions at home but said the Blue Eye appeared more striking. They added that they included it as a key stop in their itinerary.
Another visitor said he had spent ten days travelling across the country. He highlighted the combination of nature, historic towns and cultural heritage. He also said he would recommend Albania as a travel destination.
Tour operators report that the tourist season started earlier than usual, in March. They say visitor numbers remain stable across the country. They also note increased demand for tours and travel bookings.
A tourism specialist said visitors often arrive with modest expectations. He added that many leave positively surprised by the country’s diversity and tourism offer.
The strong visitor flow points to a positive start to the season. Natural sites such as the Blue Eye continue to strengthen Albania’s position as an increasingly attractive tourism destination.
