TIRANA, May19 – The Albanian Football Association said it has ended cooperation with national team coach Sylvinho. It said the Brazilian’s contract expired and the parties did not renew it. It added that the decision will be made official at a press conference later on Tuesday.

The federation said the same conference will also address the appointment of a new coach. It indicated that an Italian candidate leads the list of potential successors.

Sylvinho took charge of Albania in 2023. He led the team to qualification for the most recent European Championship. The federation renewed his contract for six months earlier this year.

His assistant staff will also leave the national team setup. Doriva and Pablo Zabaleta are expected to depart alongside him.
