The 100-year-old clothes of the Albanian Catholic clergy are exhibited in Shkodër

The liturgical vestments of the Albanian Catholic clergy, from the last 100 years, have been exhibited for the first time in the Museum of the Diocese of Shkodra.
With the ban on religion, the liturgical vestments of the priests were seized by the communist regime and unlike other church assets, they were not destroyed, but placed in the atheist museum.
Today, the museum of the Diocese in Shkodra has exhibited these clothes to the public, among which is the authentic dress of Dom Simon Juban.
The value of these clothes lies in finding and preserving them during the communist regime, when religion was forbidden.
Liturgical vestments are a special characteristic for the history of Albania, a country where religion was condemned by law for 50 years. These clothes remind the connection of Albanians with God and the fact that Albanians never lost faith in God.
In addition to church objects, various archaeological discoveries or works of art, this special section has been added to the Museum of the Diocese, which includes you in a unique journey of the presence of Christianity in our country. Soon, the museum is expected to gain accreditation from the Ministry of Culture.
