The Book Fair “Leipzig 2024”, Albanian literature was part of international discussions

After the initiatives taken to read and encourage young writers to create publishing and promotion platforms, Albania participated this year in the Leipzig Fair, not simply to join the European book festival, but also aiming for cultural exchanges.  Motto of the Leipzig Book Fair for 2024 was “Who’s still reading?”, while the motto of Albania’s stand in the fair is “Don’t look back”, a reflection on history, the past but also the future through reading philosophical concept. The National Book and Reading Center, in this great world book event, has carried out a program full of activities and discussions on Albanian book, supporting young authors.

“These were very beautiful days for the Albanian book, for the Albanian authors that we had invited to this fair. Albania participated in some very interesting panels with the central theme of this fair, which is a universal theme that involves us all and a almost challenging theme, who “Who’s still reading?” was the theme of this fair. The Albanian authors who were part of the panels were young authors. Besides these authors, we had the presence of Rita Petro, Stefan Capaliku, Mimoza Hysa “, said the director of the Book Center, Alda Bardhyli.

Since 1994, the Leizig Fair shares awards for the participants. The Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding is one of the most prestigious literary awards in Germany. Albania became part of the Leipzig Fair for the first time in 2015.
