The first meeting of this year of the central editorial office for the compilation of the new “Albanian Encyclopedia” took place in Prizren, Kosova. The so far progress of the work was reported in this meeting, as well as there were decided the following tasks for the editorial offices of the fields, a synchronized work calendar for 2024 was approved and the coordination of meetings between the editorial offices of the fields too.

Academician Kraja informed about the activity of the local editorial office of Prishtina that he directs and about the progress of work in the editorial offices of the domains. Kraja said that during the three-month period, work was done to finish with the preliminary statement, which will be submitted according to the stipulated time, i.e. until March 31.

The fact that many of the editors of the domains have held joint meetings at their own initiative, have exchanged lists and are interacting with the positive will was welcomed.

On behalf of the local editorial office of Tirana academician Shaban Sinani presented a written report to inform the Central Editorial Office about the progress of the activity since the last meeting, to propose the phases of work expected for 2024 and on this basis to approve the calendar of tasks and holding of the inter-editorial meetings.

In this meeting it was decided that (1) by the end of June, the editors of the fields have completed the selection of the encyclopedic units based on strict scientific criteria, submitting the lists to the local editors and further to the central editorial office, which has the approval right; (2) their division according to importance and degree of representation into summary, small, medium and large articles must be accomplished. The list of monographic articles is approved by Central Editorial Office together with the implementing authors; (3) the working editorial offices must be proposed and there must be agreed upon the implementing authors by the end of the year; (4) the field editors meet twice a year, once in Tirana and once in Prishtina; (5) the calendar of meetings and editorial office’s meetings was approved in general.
