“The Dawn of Time”, ballet to conclude the International Festival of Contemporary Dance

The show “The Dawn of Time” closes the second edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Dance.
The long-awaited second edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Dance, organized by the Center for Art and Culture Harabel, D18 Paris and Balkan Youth Link Albania, in cooperation with the National Theater of Opera and Ballet and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, took place along September and October 2023, and will be concluded with the show “The Dawn of Time” choreographed by Blenard Azizaj.
The festival under the artistic direction of the well-known choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, with a program designed under the supervision of Nicole Saïd and under the direction of Ajola Xoxa, brought to the public performances of an exceptional level every week from well-known companies such as Ballet Preljocaj, La Veronal & Marcus Morau, National Foundation of dance/Aterballetto and concludes with Blenard Azizaj.
“The Dawn of Time” is a performance that Azizaj performed with the troupe of the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Set against a fragmented landscape that reflects the complexity of life, “The Dawn of Time” becomes a metaphor for the human journey. Memories from the past begin to surface, forcing us to face untrodden paths. This piece is a reflection on our collective past, which reminds us how to move forward.
In this dance of the dawn of time, the dancers explore the duality of existence. They embody the delicate balance between chaos and order as their movements shift from wild to controlled ones. They become the embodiment of light and dark, their bodies reflecting intricate patterns of shadow and illumination, symbolizing the eternal struggle between creation and destruction.
The dawn of time, once shrouded in mystery, unfolds through the language of contemporary dance. It is a testament to the power of movement, the ability to transcend time and space and tell stories that give voice to the deepest corners of our souls. Art lovers will be able to attend this fascinating premiere at the Opera and Ballet Theater on October 19 and 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
