The heritage of Albanian folk dress, embroiderer from Kruja keeps alive the costume culture

Keeping the tradition of costume making alive is quite difficult.
Elida Cela remains among the most passionate and loyal embroiderers in the characteristic Bazaar of Kruja. This passion of hers is a legacy from her well-known ancestors in the historic city of Kruja.
These artisans, who were known for this craft, are known in several different countries for the practice of embroidery of costumes and various traditional folk clothing.
The sewing machines are located in the small work room where Elida works.
This way of working requires patience; there are some embroidery practices that the master also requires, so some talents have emerged from her teaching, while we are keeping the tradition alive.
There are young girls who keep this passion and find the opportunity to work in this workshop, and try to give the best for the Kruja girls.
Elida shows that there are increasing requests to use national folk costumes on holidays, especially at weddings.
It is exciting, she says that she has participated in various fairs, even abroad with her costumes.
