The International Short Film Festival in Korçë featured participants from 22 countries

The 11th edition of the “Korça Film Fest 2024” International Short Film Festival was inaugurated at the “Majestic” cinema in Korçë, marking the seventh consecutive year of support from the Korçë Municipality.
A total of 45 films from 22 countries are competing in categories including national, international, student, and documentary films. The festival aims to bring together filmmakers from around the world, fostering connections and encouraging the development of future projects. Five of the participating filmmakers are Albanian, hailing from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.
A notable addition to this year’s edition is the short documentary film category. Festival Director Gledis Bica stated that a rigorous selection process is applied to national films, although it remains challenging to present a substantial number of Albanian-language films each year due to limited production capacity.
The festival opened with a film from Palestine, offering a reflective portrayal of the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
