The Ardenica Monastery, close to Apollonia Archeological Park, is one of the most visited tourist spots by local and foreign tourists during the summer season.

The residents the area themselves consider the Ardenica tourist spot as one the most beautiful places in Myzeqe.

These 3 young boys, who are on holidays in Albania now, are immigrants to Sweden and Germany and every year they include a visit to the Monastery in their plans.

Florian Hoxha was born and raised in Ardenica and despite the fact that he lives in Sweden today, his longing for this country has increased.

“Ardenica is one of the most beautiful places for me”, he says.

Even Dhimitër Rista, despite the fact that he is from the same area, shows that his emotions are always triggered in a special way by his visit to Ardenica. Ardenica constantly brings many tourists from Germany.

Both visitors and locals underline the need to improve road to and tourist infrastructure.

The Ardenica Monastery was built around 1282. According to historians, in 1451 George Kastioti Skanderbeg, the Albanian national hero, solemnized his marriage with Donika Comneni Arianiti in the church of that monastery.
