At the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, the show “Callas e Onassis” was successfully performed, after more than a decade, that the stage of the Opera House had lacked a musical.

“With the collaboration of the artists of the Varna Theater, the Symphony Orchestra and the Opera House Choir, we brought the musical “Callas e Onassis”, which tells the love story of the operatic diva, Maria Callas, and the famous billiards player Aristotle Onassis” , wrote on social networks the director of the Opera House, Abigeila Voshtina.

The musical came to Albania on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek soprano, Maria Callas, as part of an agreement with the Varna Theatre, signed at the beginning of this year.

Through this memorandum, the theaters of the two countries will have the opportunity to exchange different artists and directors, as well as choir conductors, involved in the activities of the Artistic Calendar 2023.

One of them was the Albanian staging of the large-scale production “AIDA” directed by Franko Zeffirelli”, the director Ada Gurra and the moxo-soprano Ivana Hoxha helped in the staging at the Varna Theater as well.
