The National Historical Museum informs the children about the importance of Xhubleta

The Educational Programs Sector at the National Historical Museum went to the 9-year-old school “Servete Maçi” to organize the informative and entertaining activity “E Ka Kush E Ka” – “Xhubleta”, with the support and help of the Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB) Albania.

The students learned about the importance of Xhubleta, which identifies the cultural heritage of the Albanian people.

At the end, the students had fun cutting out the figures and gluing them according to the given pattern.

Last November, after a long, dedicated work, the file of Xhubleta’s craft learning was accepted into the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, under the protection of UNESCO.

Albanian Xhubleta, 4 thousand years old, is now the wealth of all humanity.

Xhubleta is a traditional dress of Albanians, especially in mountainous areas. This costume and its craftsmanship has traveled a long way in time, showing the traces of the Illyrian civilization in Albanian culture, who designed it in seemingly beautiful ways, but which in themselves create symbols that bring us messages that we still cannot explain.
