Academic Nazim Gruda inaugurated the scientific seminar “New Natural Sources of Bioactive Molecules for Human and Animal Nutrition” today at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas.

During the seminar, Prof. Gruda discussed strategies to improve the quality of fruits and vegetables as part of a healthy nutrition project funded by the Baltic-German University Liaison Office and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), with support from the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The project was made possible through scientific and professional connections established during the Albanian Academy of Sciences delegation’s visit to Lithuania last September.

The two academies have signed a cooperation agreement, and the President of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences is expected to visit Albania in October.

Prof. Gruda will also participate in the 4th International Conference on Scientific Developments and Innovations in Horticulture, taking place later this year in Kaunas. The conference, titled “Horticultural Value Networks,” is organized by the Lithuanian Research Center for Agriculture and Forestry and the Nordic Association of Agricultural Sciences.
