The silver cover of a gospel is exhibited at the Museum of Medieval Art

The National Museum of Medieval Art has unveiled a rare object from its collection: a gospel cover originating from the village of Dishnicë, Korçë.
The cover is crafted in silver using the repoussé technique.
At its center is the depiction of the Resurrection of Christ, surrounded by 18 prophets and 16 additional scenes, beginning with the life of the Virgin Mary and continuing through major religious feasts.
This object was photographed in the photographic laboratory of the National Museum of Medieval Art using the Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) method. RTI is an innovative imaging technique that produces hyper-realistic digital images, interactively controlled by the viewer.
This technique is based on the synthesis of multiple digital images of a subject, all captured from a fixed camera position.
