The story of the prophet Elias on stage at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet

One of Mendelssohn’s exceptional oratorio, ‘Elias,’ was brought to life through the musical at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet’s Symphony Orchestra and Choir, under the direction of Swiss-Argentinian maestro Facundo Agudin and maestro Dritan Lumshi.
The National Theater of Opera and Ballet beautifully portrayed the narrative of this significant biblical figure and his tireless efforts to restore faith in the God of Israel in the face of 450 false prophets.
The main roles in the performance were debuted by baritone Artur Vera, soprano Renisa Laçka, mezzo-soprano Vikena Kamenica, and tenor Francesco Napoleoni.
This magnificent work was also brought to life by a group of 30 young orchestral performers, thanks to a collaboration with the Conservatory “Umberto Giordano” of Foggia and “Giuseppe Martucci” of Salerno, as well as the Symphony Orchestra of the Armed Forces.
A special highlight of the performance was the inclusion of 10-year-old Aislin Shyti from the Choir of White Voices, who captured the hearts of the audience for the first time.
