The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, awarded the title of “Great Master”to the painter Helidon Haliti with the motivation: “In recognition of his rich artistic activity in figurative art, appreciated as the painter “Master of watercolors” and as an engaged intellectual in the education of society with cultural and artistic values. In appreciation of the promotion of Albanian art through exhibitions inside and outside the country, contributing to the growth of Albania’s image”.

“Helidon Haliti is a modern contemporary and surrealist painter on the border of magical realism, as defined by art critics, but his inspiration from Albanian themes makes him more special, also makes the appreciation given to him today more meaningful”, says Begaj in his speech.

Friends from the world of art and family of the great master, Haliti, were present today to follow his decoration, as well as to share together the emotions of a well-deserved appreciation, dedicated to his work as a legacy left to artists young people.

The artist Helidon Haliti is one of our most popular artists and his contribution has been honored with important awards in Albania and abroad. He has been appreciated for a great contribution mainly in the 15 years of his stay in Greece, in the organization of various exhibitions as well as the presentation of Albanian art and culture in the Hellenic state.

With his return to Albania, it is worth noting that the artist Helidon Haliti has a huge contribution of 17 years.

Haliti is among the most important names of contemporary Albanian art, an artist very well known for his art both in Albania and abroad, participant in many biennials and international exhibitions, over 5 personal exhibitions, honored with high caliber awards in and outside Albania.

An artist highly appreciated by art critics and scholars. His works are part of museums and galleries, as well as various collectors in Albania and abroad.
