The Venetian Tower in Durrës is restored

The Venetian Tower in Durrës has been restored after the damage it suffered from the earthquake of November 26, 2019.
The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti together with the Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, were in Durrës to inaugurate the restoration and revitalization works in the Venetian Tower, which were finalized thanks to the EU4CULTURE program, implemented by UNOPS.
“We enjoyed a surprising performance, which is already tangible for the visitors. The Venetian Tower, a treasure that has not only come to light, but has gained even more value thanks to technology,” Minister Margariti writes in a post on social networks.
Now this cultural monument has been transformed into an information center about the history of the city. Albanian and foreign visitors, and above all young people, will be able to get information there about all the historically and culturally important objects of Durrës.
The tower, in addition to narrating the history of Durrës, will guide visitors through its monuments.
