The “Verdi OFF” festival returns/Italian director Mario Mascitelli brings the opera “Aida” in the comic version

The “Verdi OFF” festival, which brings different colors of Italian culture to our capital, returns for the second year in a row during the Week of Italy.
“Verdi Off” is a festival that the whole city celebrates with the mini shows that are presented by Italian artists in the main squares of the city. This method was created by the masters of the Teatro Regio di Parma in Italy, to create and share a festive atmosphere for anyone who happened to be in the city squares and suddenly visit Verdi’s creations on the occasion of the Verdi Festival.
On Sunday evening, the public in the capital had the pleasure of enjoying Giuseppe Verdi’s 4-act opera “Aida”, a work which today occupies a central place in the operatic canon, appearing every year around the world. The director and actor, Mario Mascitelli, brings the show with a new directorial concept, which contains lots of humorous notes.
“It is a pleasure that we came here, we hope that it is the beginning of a cooperation in the future. In the Italian week of culture here in Albania, we bring all the colors, white, red and green, through concerts and shows. We come from the Theater of the city of Parma, in Italy, and we bring a special “Aida”, in the sense that it is a comic version of the work, in order to make the story known to the public for hundreds of years, but in at the same time, let’s make them laugh a little”, said Mascitelli.
The “Verdi Off” festival is organized by the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, in collaboration with the Teatro Regio di Parma. Verdi Off is the discovery and rediscovery of Giuseppe Verdi and his works from different and surprising perspectives. In honor of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the great Italian composer, Giuseppe Verdi, the year 2023 has been announced by the Opera House as the Verdian year, as one of the most popular composers in the history of world opera. “
