The works for the urban and touristic development of Gorica in Berat are under completion

The works for the urban and touristic development of the Gorica neighborhood in Berat are nearing completion.
Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama brought this afternoon through social networks views from the Gorica neighborhood of Berat urban rehabilitation works.
The investment in the Gorica historic neighborhood started in the summer of 2021 to make it one of the most visited districts in Albania.
This important project is realized thanks to the cooperation with the Albanian Development Fund, financed by the World Bank and will lead to widening of the road between the two bridges and a new pedestrian walkway.
The investment foresees underground infrastructure, alleys and walls and special lighting. The rehabilitation of the suspension bridge and the extra space of parking space are two other elements of this project that will provide another development to the area.
The Gorica neighborhood is emblematic for Berat. During the 17th century, this neighborhood encompassed some 200 houses, while today’s architectural views of the houses, like in the other two neighborhoods, have undergone deep reconstructions after the devastating earthquake of 1851. Some houses and gates show are precisely the dating of this period of reconstruction, that is, of the second half of the century. XIX.
