Third Edition of Themeluesi on Ismail Qemali’s Leadership Coming Soon

The third edition of Themeluesi, focusing on Ismail Qemali and his leadership, will soon be released. Author Evarist Beqiri’s updated version includes new materials, such as a photo of a 1900 Civil Registry document from Brussels.
Qemali lived in Brussels from 1900 to 1908, where he played a key role in Albania’s independence. The registry confirms his birthdate as January 24, 1844, and his birthplace as Vlora, Albania, reinforcing his Albanian identity.
The edition also features previously unpublished photos of Qemali and his wife, Kleoniqi Surmeli Vlora, as well as classified documents about his escape from Constantinople in 1900.
Beqiri has also shared digitized documents from the National Archives of India, shedding new light on Qemali’s escape from the Ottoman Empire.
