Tirana International Film Festival has opened the call for applications to the competition where TIFF 2023 participants will be selected. The application deadline ends on May 23, 2023.

The screenplay competition is about submitting original scripts for short films, fiction or animation, as well as other forms of short scripts of all genres, through the FilmFreeway online platform.

This competition does not aim to judge the best script, but ensures the evaluation by festival partners, producers and distributors of the best script that can be produced by them. It also greatly increases the chances of successful distribution in the most popular international short film festivals.

The partners of TIFF will evaluate the winning scripts with the distribution prize of “MAILUKI Films” and with the possibility of signing a production or distribution contract.

From the 84 screenplays applied to Screenplay ContesTIFF 2022, the winners were: “P” by Stelios Koupetoris from Greece and “In Your Hands” by Carlo Liberatore from Italy.

The PREMIERE Film Award went to “Among the Living” by Joe Zalia from the United Kingdom.

The winners of the Screenplay ContesTIFF 2023 will be announced at the TIFF awards ceremony on September 29, 2023.
