“Tirana Moons” Hosts Exhibition on Kosovar Albanian Leaders in Pre-Liberation Albania

The General Directorate of Archives (DPA) opened a documentary photography exhibition today in the “Tirana Moons” space.
The exhibition is titled “Personalities from Kosovo in the Governments of Albania 1920-1944.”
It comes to Tirana after its presentation in Prishtina, Kosovo’s capital. The exhibition marks the 18th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence.
The display includes documents, discussions, memos, decisions, proposals, and telegrams from seven prominent figures of the Kosovar Albanian community. These figures contributed to the political life of pre-liberation Albania: Hasan Prishtina, Kadri Prishtina, Sali Vuçiterna, Rexhep Mitrovica, Rexhep Krasniqi, Ceno Kryeziu, and Xhaferr Deva.
The exhibition is the result of ongoing cooperation between the DPA and the State Archives Agency of Kosovo (AShAK). Their joint aim is to promote national history through preserved documentary heritage.
Exhibited documents include:
- Hasan Prishtina’s discussion in the National Council about Serbian massacres against Albanians.
- A memo by Hoxha Kadriu to foreign ministries and the League of Nations on Kosovo and Albanian territories.
- Council of Ministers’ decision appointing Sali Vuçiterna as Director General of the Agrarian Reform.
- Proposal by Minister of Education Rexhep Mitrovica for founding the League of Albanian Teachers.
- Notification from the Provisional Executive Committee to Rexhep Krasniqi about his election as representative of the Prizren Prefecture in the 1943 National Assembly.
- Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Ceno Kryeziu’s credentials accepted by the King of Yugoslavia as plenipotentiary minister in Belgrade.
- Telegram from Interior Minister Xhaferr Deva regarding collection of materials on Kosovo’s demographics.
The exhibition highlights Kosovo’s historical contributions to Albania’s governance and political development.
