Moons Library in Tirana Offers a Cultural Oasis

Tirana, October 16 – The new “Tirana Moons” library has drawn attention from citizens, especially young people, since it opened.
This temporary installation features modular, prefabricated units that assemble on site. Its shapes and lighting resemble the Moon, creating a unique atmosphere.
The space includes books donated by the “Dukagjini” Library of Kosovo. In addition, architects involved in recent city projects contributed books to the collection.
Designed by architect Chris Precht, the library blends architecture, art, and culture. Visitors can read the books only inside “Tirana Moons.” Students and older citizens have shown particular interest in the space.
Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Blendi Gonxhja described “Tirana Moons” as an oasis where books, art, architecture, and nature come together, offering inspiration and calm in the heart of the city.
Located in “Mother Teresa” Square, the wooden ring installation reclaims space from traffic for pedestrians to walk, read, and dream.
