Tirana Named Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2025

Tirana will host one of the most important regional events of the year, ALForum 2025. The event will take place from June 18 to 20 in the Albanian capital. The Anna Lindh Foundation is organizing the forum in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania.
This international forum also marks the official announcement of Tirana as the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue for 2025. The Anna Lindh Foundation and the Union for the Mediterranean awarded this prestigious title.
Over three days, around 1,000 participants from 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries will join the forum. Civil society representatives, academics, media, youth leaders, institutions, and influential figures will gather to discuss and share ideas. They aim to strengthen cooperation, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development across the region.
The forum will feature six plenary sessions, 100 parallel sessions, 27 artistic performances, and networking activities. Under the motto “Inspiring Knowledge, Driving Action, Connecting Cultures,” ALForum aims to create a space for deeper cooperation. Participants will feel heard, inspired, and empowered to help transform the region.
Meanwhile, Tirana—with its vibrant cultural scene and open spirit of dialogue—continues to strengthen its role as a Mediterranean center for intercultural cooperation and progressive ideas.
