The photo exhibition “The History of the Bicycle in Albania” opened at the Reja art installation next to the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana.

The General Directorate of Archives organized the event with Active Mobility and other partners in the archive sector.

Cycling community members, citizens, and bike enthusiasts attended the opening.

The exhibition shows how bicycles became a popular mode of transport in Albania over the last century. Archival photos highlight Shkodra as the first city to embrace cycling culture, which later spread across the country.

The exhibition runs until May 15, 2025. It links historical memory with the promotion of sustainable mobility.

The Municipality of Tirana, the Parks and Recreation Agency, the Marubi Photo Archive/Museum, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, and independent collectors supported the event.
