Tirana will host the Corridor VIII Ministerial

On February 18, Tirana becomes the center of regional dialogue. The focus is on reaffirming the strategic value of Corridor VIII, a major infrastructure and geopolitical project.
The Corridor VIII Ministerial takes place at the Palace of Brigades. Delegations from Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy, and Romania will join representatives from partner countries.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs aims to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation. It seeks to speed up Corridor VIII’s development as a key route for transport, trade, and security. The meeting also supports stronger regional integration and better links with Europe’s main networks.
The plenary session will focus on the theme “Corridor VIII at Europe’s Strategic Crossroads: Connectivity, Resilience, and Shared Prosperity.” It will highlight the corridor’s role in connecting economic growth, security, and regional stability.
Delegates plan to sign a joint declaration. The event also includes bilateral meetings and a joint press conference.
Alongside the ministerial, the Economic Forum for Corridor VIII will take place at the Bank of Albania (Building No. 2, former Hotel Dajti). Its theme is “From Strategic Connection to Regional Growth: The Economic Potential of Corridor VIII.”
The forum gathers public officials, European institutions, financial organizations, and business leaders. They will discuss trade facilitation, industrial development, and competitiveness.
Participants aim to use European and international funding tools. Their goal is to turn Corridor VIII into a driver of investment, growth, and economic integration across the region.
