Tonight, the Final Night of the 11th Edition of Koko Fest

Tonight will mark the final night of the 11th edition of Koko Fest, featuring the performance of “The Korça Carnivals” directed by Erion Isai and the award ceremony that will crown the festival.

Koko Fest, which kicked off on August 28 has welcomed theater groups from Vlora, Kosovo, Greece, Durrës, Tirana, Shkodër, and, of course, the “Çajupi” Theater from Korça. The National Comedy Festival opened with the play “Vassa Zheleznova,” directed by Enke Fezollari and performed by the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theater troupe, and will conclude tonight with a performance by the same group of actors.

The comedies staged during this 11th edition included: “Good Night My Husband,” “Club Albania,” “Marika They Call Me-Marika They Name Me,” “10 Years of Marriage,” “Vassa Zheleznova,” “The Testament,” “Crime is Only Mine,” and “The Korça Carnivals.”

The National Theater presented “The Testament” by Leka Bungo at the festival, with a performance by the renowned actor Viktor Zhusti.

For about 60 minutes, the audience experienced the history of Albania from 1941, when the Communist Party was founded, to the present day, highlighting what has changed and what has not. The communist Kuqo leaves a testament and recounts the time from the founding of the Communist Party up to the present day. Alone on stage, with a monologue lasting around an hour, Kuqo is accompanied by the sarcasm that is characteristic of Leka Bungo’s works.
