Unforgettable “La Traviata” Performance Thrills Tirana Audience

Tirana’s National Theatre of Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble hosted an unforgettable evening of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “La Traviata.” The second cast of this grand production brought energy, emotion, and artistry to the stage.
The performance represents a key collaboration between the theatre in Tirana and the National Theatre in Zagreb. The hall filled completely as the audience experienced the drama and music live.
Soprano Zuzana Markova delivered a brilliant interpretation of Violetta Valery. She combined vocal delicacy with dramatic power, holding the audience’s attention until the final note. Tenor Oreste Cosimo played Alfredo Germont with emotion and finesse. Baritone Armando Likaj portrayed Giorgio Germont, giving the father’s role weight and authority.
Other soloists added depth to the production. Dorina Selimaj played Flora Bervoix, and Suada Gjergji performed as Annina. Secondary characters included Erlind Zeraliu (Gastone and Giuseppe), Ogert Islami (Il barone Douphol), Metin Jupe (Il marchese d’Obigny), Bledar Domi (Il dottor Grenvil), and Genc Vozga (Un Commissario).
Conductor Sebastiano Rolli led the orchestra and choir with precision. The music and drama blended seamlessly. Director, set designer, and costume designer Hugo De Ana brought a modern, majestic vision to the stage. Visual elements, scenery, and costumes combined in a complete artistic experience.
The production highlights Tirana’s theatre as a regional hub for opera. It creates connections between Albanian and international artists and showcases tradition alongside innovation.
