Vaçe Zela’s Mural Unveiled at RTSH: Argentine Artist Completes Work in Just Two Days

Legendary Albanian singer Vaçe Zela, a national icon, has been immortalized in a mural at the Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH), where she first gained her widespread fame.
The mural, created by renowned Argentine artist Maximiliano Debasko, was completed in just two days.
Vaçe Zela, a prominent figure in Albanian music, participated in many RTSH song fests since their inception. She was the inaugural winner of the first festival and went on to win 11 additional top awards throughout her career.
She retired from performing in 1992, leaving a significant impact on Albanian music with numerous folk songs, light music, cantatas, and ballads. Her legacy is now forever commemorated also in the mural at RTSH.
Maximiliano Debasko, known for his portraits of global icons such as footballers David Beckham and Ronaldinho, created this mural as part of Mural Fest, curated by painter and artist Helidon Haliti. He also painted a mural of writer Ismail Kadare in Tirana and a portrait of international football star Lionel Messi last year.
