TIRANA, February 6 – The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina began today and will run until February 22.

Albania is represented by four skiers: Lara Colturi, Denni Xhepa, Lisa Brunga, and Semire Dauti.

Lara Colturi, ranked fifth in the world, is the main focus. She is considered a strong contender for an Olympic medal.

Her key races are scheduled for February 15 and 18, where she will compete to win a medal for Albania.

Three opening ceremonies are taking place: one in Milan, another in Cortina, where Colturi will carry the Albanian flag, and a third in Borno.

Albania hopes this participation marks an important step for winter sports and brings success on the Olympic stage.
