Zubin Mehta, one of the most famous conductors at the international level, together with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, received long applause, yesterday evening at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet in Tirana.

“Honored to have among us, the legend of world conducting, master Zubin Mehta”, the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti writes in a post on social networks.

Two geniuses of composition, Beethoven and Berlioz, came to the stage of the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Popular Ensemble, under the virtuoso interpretation of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, with a journey to the “Open Balkans”.

“The arrival of Zubin Mehta in Tirana was not only a great cultural event, which was witnessed by the long applause of the public, but also a confirmation that our capital has entered the agendas of world stars”, Minister Margariti said. 

Zubin Mehta, now 87 years old but still with a busy artistic activity. This is the first time that the internationally famous conductor comes to Albania, but the Albanian public knows him through his conducting of the Vienna Concert and his collaboration with the three tenors: Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras.
