Like today, on March 25, 1897, the first issue of the magazine “Albania” was published in Brussels.

This magazine was a political, cultural and literary monthly, which was founded by the “walking encyclopedia”, Faik Konica.

Its pages forged Albanian thought in the field of history, literature, linguistics, folklore, etc.

In this think tank, the writings of the National Renaissance elite saw the light of publication, such as: Filip Shiroka, Luigj Gurakuqi, Andon Zako Çajupi, Hilë Mosi, Fan Noli, etc.

“Albania” aimed to achieve the awakening of national feeling, social emancipation and the independence of Albania. The languages ​​of its publication were Albanian, French and Turkish.

The magazine was published until 1909. The magazine “Albania” turned into a tribune of Albanian thought, where it published and praised the most elite part of the National Renaissance.
