211 films are set to be competed for in the 22nd edition of TIFF, taking place from the 22nd to the 28th of September

The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) today announced the official selection of films for its 22nd edition, scheduled to take place from September 22nd to 28th, 2024. According to the organizers, the process of selecting the competing films began in October 2023.

From a pool of 3,700 applications from 110 countries worldwide, the official list of 211 films was presented today, including 25 feature films and 186 short films. All selected films were produced in 2023-2024 and will be national premieres, with many also serving as world, international, European, and regional premieres.

The screenings will take place at Kinema Millennium, the AGIMI Art Center, and the Artistic Lyceum.

The 21st edition of the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) concluded with the awarding of the “Golden Owl” to director Abbaz Amini for his film Endless Borders. TIFF is an independent festival that promotes auteur films—non-commercial works that might otherwise struggle to penetrate the mainstream cinema and distribution market.
