Kosova President Justina Shiroka Pula attended a ceremony on Tuesday evening marking Austria’s National Day. She highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two countries and their shared commitment to freedom, democracy, human rights and peace.

Shiroka Pula thanked Austria for its support during difficult periods in Kosova’s history. She stressed the importance of Austria’s early recognition of Kosova’s independence and its contribution to building state institutions and strengthening the country’s international standing.

The president also praised Austria’s contribution to peace and security through its participation in the peacekeeping mission in Kosova. She welcomed Vienna’s continued support for Kosova’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

In addition, Shiroka Pula identified opportunities to expand cooperation in education, science, culture, technology, the economy and innovation. She wished the Austrian people peace, well-being and prosperity, and expressed hope for Austria’s continued contribution to a peaceful and united Europe.
