In a video shared on social media, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, announced, “On International Mother Language Day, we are launching the third edition of the National Albanian Language Competition, a beautiful tradition that turns our schools into centers for linguistic debate and creativity. Here, ninth-grade students will test their language knowledge, critical thinking, and ability to communicate responsibly“.

“Along with the two winning teams from last year, we wish success to the over 11,000 students who will take part in the National Albanian Language Competition 2025. In the end, it is always the beautiful Albanian language that triumphs,” Manastirliu added.

The Minister also shared her confidence that “promoting and preserving the Albanian language will provide even greater support for all aspects of language education. This is especially important in this sensitive time, as we focus on preserving the Albanian language in the digital age“.

She further stated, “I’m sure that through the creative ideas our students will share, especially through the exploration of history and Albanian literature, this edition will offer us the opportunity to turn the next three months into a vast laboratory for the Albanian language in all our schools“.

This competition’s significance extends beyond assessing students’ knowledge and skills in the Albanian language. It also plays a crucial role in strengthening national identity and nurturing a new generation committed to their cultural heritage.

Through this initiative, students are encouraged to develop and express their love for the Albanian language, becoming its ambassadors both inside and outside the country’s borders.
