Albanological Encyclopedic Publishing Center Discusses “History of Albanians” Project

Albanological Encyclopedic Publishing Center (QBEA) recently hosted a meeting of the Central Editorial Board for the major “History of Albanians” project.

The meeting was attended by editorial members Acad. Pëllumb Xhufi, Prof. Paskal Milo, Prof. Ferit Duka, Prof. Neritan Ceka, and QBEA director Dr. Arian Leka.

The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the review of the first two volumes, “Antiquity” and “The Middle Ages,” before they proceed to the review phase.

Dr. Leka provided an update on the progress of the two volumes, outlining the steps for their final scientific editing, including orthographic and stylistic revisions.

The editorial team then discussed the content of the works. In their analysis of Volume I, “Antiquity” (699 pages) and Volume II, “The Middle Ages” (722 pages), Prof. Milo and Prof. Duka noted the introduction of fresh perspectives, expanded coverage of existing topics, and the inclusion of previously missing themes, all meeting the scientific standards. The works comprehensively cover the stages of Albanian civilization, tracing the history of Albanian-inhabited regions.

The next meeting of the editorial board, marking the completion of this phase, is scheduled for March 20, 2025.
