Colorful costumes, masks, and a festive atmosphere are dominating the city of Shkodra as it celebrates the Carnival festival.

Since yesterday, parades have begun in Shkodra, adding vibrancy even to the historic Rozafa Castle, where amidst legends and ancient walls, the city’s youth have showcased their creativity.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social media images of a city celebrating with colors, tradition, and artistic spirit.

“A beautiful moment from Shkodra’s Carnivals,” wrote Rama.

Shkodra’s Carnival parades began on February 17 and will continue until February 23.

The festive atmosphere kicked off with performances by local schools, where children, transformed into various characters, brought joy and spectacle to the city’s streets.

A grand parade, concerts, and artistic performances will accompany the city for seven days, preserving its rich cultural tradition and turning Shkodra into a true festival destination.
