The Director of the National Book and Reading Center (QKLL), Alda Bardhyli, held meetings focused on the translation and dissemination of Albanian literature in other languages and cultures.

Bardhyli met with Jan Maibom, First Secretary and Head of the Culture and Press Office at the German Embassy in Tirana, as well as Kohei Tsuboi, First Secretary and Cultural Affairs Officer at the Japanese Embassy in Albania.

The discussions highlighted the challenges of publishing original Japanese literature due to the scarcity of translators from the language.

According to QKLL, the Japan Foundation, headquartered in Rome, could play a key role in supporting the publication of both Albanian literature and works by Japanese authors. The Japanese Embassy expressed its readiness to collaborate with QKLL in organizing and supporting activities related not only to literature but also to Japanese art.
