The European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, announced that the European Week of 2025 will take place in mid-May. Speaking at the inauguration of Vila 31 x Art Explora, he highlighted the transformation of the location from a symbol of oppression to a space for freedom of expression and cultural exchange. He emphasized the EU’s support for this shift and its ongoing work with Albanian artists through the “Creative Europe” program.

Gonzato also announced the start of the Art Explora Festival in Durrës, which will feature 10 days of performances, films, and concerts. He stressed the importance of art and culture in Albania’s EU integration, noting that they help foster critical thinking, freedom of speech, and innovation—key values for EU membership. The European Week in 2025 will provide Albanian artists a platform to contribute to shaping a future rooted in European values.
