During his remarks at the inauguration of “Art Explora” – an initiative that aims to bring art closer to the Albanian public through a variety of artistic and cultural activities such as festivals, exhibitions, concerts, and performances – Gonzato expressed his admiration for the paintings by young migrants, which depicted a Mediterranean transformed into a graveyard.

“The Mediterranean has always been a place of encounter, a crossroads for trade, culture, and gastronomy,” he said.

“It is the culture of wine and olive oil, which brings us closer together,” Gonzato added.

He expressed pride in the EU’s financial support for this initiative, which, according to him, fully aligns with the core values of the European project.

Gonzato emphasized that cultural connections have tremendous potential to transform society.
Culture, he noted, “plays a role in Albania’s progress toward EU membership.”

This, he stressed, “is why the EU Delegation in Albania has closely collaborated with both artists and cultural institutions.”
