The archive of Pietro and Kel Marubi’s negatives, objects, and documents joined UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register a few days ago. UNESCO listed it among humanity’s most treasured heritages.

Prime Minister Edi Rama called it wonderful news during the presentation of the “Ismail Qemali” school revival project in Shkodër. He also spoke as the leader of the Socialist Party.

Rama said Shkodër now contributes to world culture not just by tradition, but by law.

“I want to share news from a few days ago,” Rama said. “Many of you may have heard it, but it’s too good not to repeat. The Marubi Dynasty archive is now officially part of the world’s cultural heritage. Shkodër has made a direct and legal contribution to global culture.”

UNESCO’s “Memory of the World” program aims to preserve and promote the most important historical documents worldwide.
