On April 28, 1912, the Pan-Albanian Federation of America, Vatra, was founded.

Vatra fought to protect the rights of Albanians around the world.
The brightest figures of the nation joined the Federation.
One of its most prominent activists was Fan Noli.
He also wrote Vatra’s anthem:
“Brothers, darkness and slavery were crushed.
Honor was born through suffering.
A sun full of joy arose.
Vatra, the beloved fortress of Mother Albania.”

At the historic meeting, they formed a temporary board.
Its members were:

• Secretary: Fan Noli

• Treasurer: Llambi Çikozi

• Manager of Dielli: Kristo Kirka

• Leaders of Federation branches: Faik Konica and Kristo Floqi

• Supervisors of Dielli: Paskal Aleksi, Elia Tromara, and Kosta Vasili.

Vatra gained official recognition from the State of Massachusetts.
It received its certificate of recognition on June 13, 1912.
