Shvarz, Head of Albania’s Delegation to Eurovision 2025: Albania Has Enchanted Eurovision with Electronic Shkodra

Albania is making a powerful impression at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, thanks to the electrifying performance of the group Shkodra Elektronike with their song “Zjerm”. Their performance in Basel has been hailed as one of the most artistically compelling, blending modern music with strong elements of Albanian folklore.

In a live interview with the show “Good Morning Albania”, Edvin Shvarz, head of the Albanian delegation to Eurovision 2025, emphasized that expectations have not only been met but exceeded.

“Expectations were fulfilled—and I would say even surpassed. The song ‘Zjerm’ is fascinating both musically and lyrically. It conveys a meaningful message that aligns with Eurovision’s core mission: promoting unity,” said Shvarz.

He added that the artists excelled in every aspect—from their vocal and dance performance to the emotional impact they created on stage. According to him, “Zjerm” has won the hearts of audiences, even among those who don’t understand the language, thanks to its emotional power and cultural identity.

“The artists shone through their interpretation, their movements, and the deep emotions they transmitted—not just to the audience, but to the entire delegation. You could hear people humming the song’s words in hallways and even in the streets, despite not knowing what they meant. The song’s strength lies in its combination of modern rhythms and traditional folk music, which beautifully expresses the diversity and unity Eurovision stands for,” he said.

“Critics, listeners, and organizers alike have praised the song’s unique fusion of the traditional and the modern. This makes it not only unique in content, but also unifying in its stage presence. Another key value is the use of the native language—Albanian—which elevates the artistic expression.”

Shvarz expressed optimism about the final results, calling the performance one of Albania’s finest entries to date and voicing confidence in a high placement.

“This year’s representation is special. It makes us feel dignified and full of artistic integrity. The performance is unique and compelling. It has real potential to reach the top. The two artists are confident in their delivery, staging, and overall concept—everything is near perfection. Expectations are high, and there is a strong chance that professional juries across Europe will vote based on merit, beyond any external factors,” concluded Shvarz.
