Swiss Cultural Week 2025 Celebrates Albanian Artistic Creativity

Swiss Cultural Week 2025 opened yesterday in Tirana, showcasing Albania’s independent cultural scene through a nine-day program of artistic creativity and social dialogue. Organized by the Swiss Embassy and the Swiss Cultural Fund (SCF), the event featured performances, exhibitions, and discussions on themes such as gender equality, environmental sustainability, and Albania’s history.
Swiss Ambassador Ruth Huber emphasized culture’s role in fostering change, democracy, and peace, highlighting SCF’s commitment to supporting Albanian artists and amplifying their voices.
Key events include “Music for Broken People” on January 28, exploring Albania’s communist past, “Over Water Landscapes” on January 29, focusing on water’s significance, and “Polluted Horizons” on February 7, addressing environmental sustainability through digital art.
Since 2017, SCF has supported Albanian artists, using arts to inspire reflection and dialogue on development issues. The SCF is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
