Gilpin: 40 Professionals from Around the World to Train Albanian Filmmakers

Philip Gilpin Jr., Executive Director of the Catalyst Story Institute, was also present at the unveiling of the Creative Training Center.
Gilpin stated that this training center represents the fulfillment of a vision long in the making.
“It has been a 20-year journey for Catalyst to reach this point. Albania has all the natural resources and talent to become a cultural hub for the international film industry,” Gilpin remarked.
He further explained that what makes this industry unique is that cinema and television are not individual art forms. They are team efforts, and turning a script into a video requires a team of workers, all of whom need proper training.
“That’s why it’s a collaborative process. It’s about learning work habits. This is why establishing a training center, a home for artists, is so exciting,” Gilpin added.
He highlighted that behind the scenes, there are around 180 different professions, including electricians, hairstylists, carpenters, and many others.
Gilpin expressed his gratitude to the Albanian authorities for their vital support in creating this inclusive training center, where 40 renowned professionals from around the world will share their expertise with Albanian filmmakers.
