New Special Prosecution head, PM: I wish him to take the institution to a higher level

TIRANA, December 15 – Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the appointment of Klodjan Braho as the new head of the Special Prosecution (SPAK) in the latest episode of the podcast “Flasim” [Let’s Talk]. Braho will succeed Altin Dumani as the institution’s leader.

Rama praised Dumani’s work. He said Dumani raised SPAK to a higher level and turned it into an institution that pursues justice without political bias. He described the new appointment as a continuation of that example.

The prime minister wished Braho success. He emphasized expectations for higher professionalism in the fight against organized crime and corruption. Rama noted that SPAK’s success cannot be measured only by statistics related to the abuse of office, citing a new European Union directive that addresses previous concerns.

Rama also criticized the publication of phone transcripts from investigation files. He called it “Big Brother-style media games” that violated the law.

He concluded that SPAK could reach the necessary level if it combines undeniable achievements with the required modesty to review past work critically.
